NEW PROCEDURE ELIMINATES THE NEED TO VISIT THE DMV FOR NEVADA MMJ CARD
The last day patients can visit a Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to get their medical marijuana card is Thursday, August 11, 2016. Beginning on Friday, August 12, 2016, the DMV will no longer process medical marijuana cards in person. The new procedure mails cards directly to patients, eliminating the need to apply in person. Patients with letters of approval who have not yet visited the DMV may either visit the DMV before Friday, August 12, 2016, or simply wait for their card to arrive in the mail. Letters of approval may be used to purchase medicine in dispensaries for 60 days from the letter’s date of issuance.
